Quality of life: a study with football athletes in a team of Montes Claros-MG
Abstract
According to the World Health Organization, quality of life can be defined as "the individual's perception of his position in life, in the context of the culture and value system in which he/she lives and in relation to his/her goals, expectations, standards and concerns." The present study aimed to analyze the quality of life of athletes of a football team in the city of Montes Claros-MG. Being aresearch with quantitative, comparative and cross-sectional approach, conducted with 22 male football athletes. For evaluation, the Questionnaire The Copenhagen Hip and Groin Outcome Score was used to evaluate physically active individuals with complaints in the hip and/or groin. Evaluated in 6 subscales: Symptoms; Pain; Day-to-day activities; Sports and leisure activities; Participation in physical activity and quality of life. The data were entered and organized in the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS, version 25.0; SPSS Inc. Chicago, IL, USA). Data distribution was evaluated by Shapiro-Wilk and Levene tests for the selection of parametric and non-parametric tests. Most players n=20 (90.9%) symptoms related to the groin/hip. It can be observed that the same number of people who had symptoms also had an impact on sports and leisure activities, the presence of pain and quality of life (90.9%). The study shows that both the titular and reserve players have a quality of life influenced by the presence of the items evaluated in the HAGOS questionnaire. Thus affecting both his personal, sporting and professional life.
