Abstract

Football is one of the few collective sports that do not show differences in rules for women and men. In this context, little is known about tactical differences between both modalities. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the offensive actions resulting in the goal of the teams U17 men's and U18 women's of Clube Regatas Flamengo team, during the 2019 Brazilian Championship. Eight games from each team were analyzed through videos available on digital platform. The offensive actions resulting in the goal, the last offensive action before the goal and the start of possession of each goal were evaluated. It was found that the female team scored more goals with the right foot than the team male. On the other hand, the number of goals with the left foot and head of the male team was higher than the female. In addition, it was observed that the highest frequency of goals for both teams occurred by shot at goal. In addition, it was observed that the majority of women's goals were originated after the ball was stolen, while the male team scored more goals starting with the set play. Thus, we can conclude that a late insertion of women in the modality can interfere in the last action of the attacks during a football game and that the offensive actions that culminated in women's soccer goals occurred mainly due to the recovery of ball possession.
