Preference to be attacking: The influences on young athletes to choose this position.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to identify possible influences on young athletes as to their choice of playing position. Materials and methods: field research, we interviewed 53 students of the school football "kickoff San Miguel", located in São Miguel Paulista, São Paulo, SP. Students aged 7 to 11 years, all male. The interview was conducted individually with each student and was composed of eight questions with five different responses, thus being able to choose just one. Results and Discussion: the student demand in all the best football he can offer, but more than anything, be recognized for his talent and the easiest way to reach your goal is to choose a more favored position where his biggest idols act and that the media spend because they always operate nearthe maximum moment of football that is the goal, the move from construction to completion. Conclusion: The young athletes looking to play in positions where players feel the action of scoring (maximum moment), occupying an important place in the team, wanting to be recognized, doing what they like and seeking success. It is suggested further research to each generation of football players with various cultures in order to compare changes in the type of influence on young athletes.
