Prevalence of cognitive component in football training sessions in the category's under-15
Abstract
Introduction: In football, tactics and the cognitive processes are essential requirements for good performance. So, it's expected that such requirements are explored in training. Objective: Check the prevalence of cognitive component in training sessions of teams from the under-15 category of Curitiba-PR. Methods: Three teams were evaluated, selected intentionally. On the data collection instrument called the analysis protocol training sessions applied and adapted to football, segmented into categories: "conversation with coach", "initial activity 1 and 2", "physical training", "technical training", "tactical training 1, 2 and 3" and "formal game". For the analyses were selected "initial activity 1 and 2" and "tactical training 1, 2 and 3"; because they are in these categories that the protocol allows the exploration of cognitive context. Each team had five training sessions observed (n=5). Data analysis was performed using Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) for Windows program, 20.0 version, through the descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation). Results: It was observed that the cognitive component is little explored; as in "initial activity 1 and 2", in only 13,3% of the opportunities the cognitive component was worked. With respect to "tactical training 1", only 6,7% of the opportunities the cognitive component was incorporated into the routine of the session. While in "tactical training 2 and 3", no cognitive training was found. Conclusion: There has been a poor exploration of the cognitive component in the training routine of basic categories of football clubs of Curitiba-PR.
