Players Sent off Interfered in the Final Results of the Games of the 2009 Confederation Cup
Abstract
Objective: Analyze the 16 games held during the 2009 Confederation Cup and quantify if there is incidence of goal(s) after sending off. Literature Revision: To the production and foundation of this study, were broached the rules and the historic of thefootball. Materials and Methods: To verify and quantify the moments in what was registered the sending off incident and goal(s) of the team(s) were examined through the electronic address www.fifa.com all the 16 official summaries of the Cup, identifying whether there was goal after sending off or not, and whether the sending off interfered in the final results of the games held or not. Results: In a total of 16 games held, occurred 4 sending off with 3 (75%) interfering in the final results of the games. Discussion: In the FIFA Confederations Cup; in 2009, after 4 expulsions, there were 6 goals, and the vast majority (75%), interfered in the final scores, the drop in performance in some gamesmay be related to metabolic stress, which can lead to possible change in the outcome of a match. Conclusion: We conclude with the analysis of the summaries that the great majority of sending off interfered in the final results of the games of the 2009 Cup Confederation.
