Analysis of the temporary incidence of gols in the 2017 brazil world cup
Abstract
In football, the most awaited and desired event is the goal, this is what transforms this sport into something attractive and great. The objective of this study was to identify the temporal incidence of goals of the 2017 Brazil World cup. This is a documentary study that analyzed the goals of the 120 games of the competition, and the time of each game was dismembered in sets of 15 minutes. However, the additions were included in the final period of each stage. The statistical work was done through the SPSS in its 23.0 version by means of descriptive statistics by frequency distribution. Mann-Whitney test was used to verify possible differences, using a significance of p <0.05. It was verified that in the 2017 Brazil World cup, there were 282 goals, where 120 (42,56%) were scored in the first period and 162 (57,45%) were scored in the second period. There was an average of 2.35 goals per game. When the game periods were surveyed, the highest incidence of goals came from 75-90 + minutes with 62 (21.99%), followed by the interval between 60-75 minutes with 51 (18.08%). There were statistically significant differences between the periods, in the number of goals scored between 0-15 and 75-90+(p=0,001) and between 30-45+ and 75-90+ (p=0,013). It can be concluded that during the 2017 Brazil World cup the highest incidence of goals occurred in the second half of the game, with a higher incidence in the last period (75-90+) of the game.
