Injuries pravalence in recreational futsal athletes
Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the injuries prevalence in recreational futsal athletes throughout 2015. The sample consisted of 73 male futsal recreational athletes who participated in the main competitions in 2015. Situations in which happened the injuries, circumstances, type, location and severity were evaluated through a recall questionnaire. The results showed that 52.05% of the athletes presented some type of injury and 17.80% were recurrent. The lower limbs injuries (24.5% knee, 19.2% thigh, 17.5% groin, 10.5% ankle) were the most frequent. Muscle stretches and sprains represented 43.8% and 33.3% of the injuries, respectively, and 50.8% of the injuries were classified as severe. It was concluded, the futsal recreational athletes showed a severe injuries high prevalence in the lower limbs, throughout 2015.
