Glucose variation before and after soccer training in younger boys, sub 17 of Santa Cruz Football Club
Abstract
Introduction: Footbal is a sport mode characterized by constant change in rhythm and intensity. The under-17 category is comprised of young athletes, 16 and 17 years. The players are in the Santa Cruz Football Club, located in Belo Horizonte in the Santa Cruz district. Objective: check the variation of blood glucose before and after a football training. Revision of literature: Soccer is a sport constitute by intermittent exercises of variable intensity. One of the most used substrate in long term exercises is the carbohydrate that is storage as glycogenic, glucose. The glucose acts as primer fuel to muscle performance. Materials and Methods: Six juvenile boys of the soccer team, sub 17 were evaluated the players were submitted to training with two times each of 35 minutes and interval of 10 minutes. The blood glucose was measured before and after training. The blood was collected trough finger. Results: Blood glucose is decrease before training when compared with that measured. Discussion: Our results identified a decrease in blood glucose after training. The glucose stability is essential for physical performance. Two important factors, namely, nutrition and training are need for a good performance. Carbohydrate consumption does not avoid, but delay fatigue in the last game stage. We conclude that there was a decrease after football training.
