Abstract

The objective of the present study was to monitor psychological variables and internal load of training (CIT) in military football players during preparation to the competition. The sample was composed by 13 men of military football team from southern Brazil, physically active and injury-free with 20.1 ± 1.6 years old and 176.8 ± 7.9 cm tall. The subjects underwent seven weeks training program composed of stimuli of strength training (resistance and maximum strength), plyometric training, agility/coordination, flexibility, core training, technical/tactical training, aerobic, anaerobic training, small sized games, Olympic lifting and complex training. During this programme were collected subjective perception of effort (PSE) and scores of questionnaires Profile of Mood States (POMS) e Daily Analisys of Life Demands for Athletes (DALDA). Among the results we highlight the significant differences from the PSE and CIT between the weeks of practice, indicating that these variables were sensitive to different types and intensities of stimuli. To the questionnaire DALDA no difference during the seven weeks of training was found. The POMS found little changes during one of the weeks of training. It is concluded that during period of seven weeks of training, PSE and CIT are sensitive to physical stimuli of different intensities, suggesting that can be used as tools to complement the training load control in military footballers, but the training protocol employed was not able to significantly change the psychological parameters of the POMS and DALDA, future studies should explore largest amount of variables, different intensities and include games in the collections.
