Abstract

Data on physical condition of soccer players are very important for determining goals and planning training for the short and long term, and serve as a means of monitoring throughout the season of competition. This study aimed at analyze the changes in peak velocity (PV) and anaerobic threshold (AT) through the maximum heart rate deflection point (HRDP) in soccer players before (march) and after (December) a training season. Ten male soccer players, from the junior category (under-20) of a Florianópolis (SC) team, participated in the study. The entire sample was subjected to an anthropometric evaluation (body mass and body composition) and a test with progressive intermittent pauses (TCAR) used to obtain aerobic indices - VP and AT (HRDP) - before (March) and after (December) a season of training and competition. Descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) was used to data analysis, the Student t test was used for paired data to check the difference between variables. The body mass referring to the months of March and December (72.4±5.3 and 73.8 ± 606 kg, respectively) showed no statistically significant differences (p=0,36), as the% G (11.5 ± 1.2 and 11, 2 ± 1.0 respectively) (p=0,24). The PV of December (17.0 ± 0.8 km / h) was statistically significant (p=0,001) when compared to March (15.0 ± 0.1).The results of HRDF (% PV) also showed statistically significant difference (p=0,01) between March and December (77±5.1 and 84.0±6.0, respectively). Thus, the present study showed that the physiological indices related to aerobic performance –PV and HRDP (% PV) - significantly increased, indicating that aerobic conditioning was sensitive to the applied loads by training and games throughout a season, even with no difference in body composition.
