Differences in performance of vertical jump between diferents players position in football
Abstract
The vertical jump is very important for football, but needed information about difference on performance playing position. The aim of this study was to analyze the differences in vertical jump performance between playing position in football. 21 football players were divided in Group 1: G1, 7 attackers (age 19,2 ± 1,7 years; body mass 64,9 ± 5,6 kg; height 173,7 ± 5,1cm) and, group 2: G2, 10 defenders (age 20,1 ± 2,1 years; body mass 72,8 ± 6,3 kg; height 176,4 ± 6,6cm) and group 3: G3, 4 goalkeepers (age 19,2 ± 2,0 years; body mass 81,9 ± 9,9 kg; height 184,6 ± 2,9cm) they underwent performance of vertical jumps with (VJCM) and without countermovement on day 2 (VJWM). The statistical analysis from data was done using the Shapiro-wilk for normality, and ANOVA Post Hoc Tukey for multiple comparisons, with significance p<0,05, software SPSS 20. Results and Conclusion: No differences in vertical jumps between playing positions. We concluded there no performance differences between different positions, fact that may be related to motor coordination.
