The influence of futsal in the motor development of 13 and 14 year old teenagers
Abstract
This research aims to compare the motor performance of teenagers between 13 and 14 years old, practitioners and not practicing of futsal. This paper is justified by whether the futsal training methods are important or not and to show how important futsal is and it is contribution to the development of motor coordination of teenagers between 13 and 14 years old. Among testing instruments there is the Corporal coordination test (Körperkoordinationtest für Kinder - KTK), developed by Kiphard and Schilling (1974). The test KTK consists of four activities: balance kicking, one foot jumping, lateral jumping and lateral transposition. Two groups were tested, the practitioners of indoor soccer group (experimental group) and not practicing group (control group). Analyzing the results obtained with the tests, the students from the experimental group obtained better performance than those from the control group. The rating of those not practicing, 9,1% were classified with normal coordination, 27,3% insufficient coordination and 63,6% had minor disturbance in motor coordination. However the ratings of practitioners' group showed that 54,5% were classified as having normal coordination and 45,5% had minor coordination disturbance. Other researches on this subject are suggested in order to investigate more about sports and motor development.
