Effects of futsal training on the flexibility in university athletes
Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the effects of futsal training in university players. Participated in the study 12 athletes aged between 18 and 26 years (22 ± 2.9 years) men's soccer team of the University Center UNIRG, who were enrolled in state futsal league 2010. The tests and data collection (fleximetry) were applied to the hip, knee and ankle, and performed at three different times following the calendar game: nine weeks before last week's League (T1), five weeks before the last week of the championship (T2) and, a week before the end of the championship (T3). The training sessions coincided with the flexibility training sessions specifically for futsal and consisted of 5 minutes of general warm and subsequent extensions and flexions maintained for 15 seconds at maximum amplitude. Statistical analysis was obtained from the averageand standard deviation of the values found and fixed at the 5% critical level (p <0.05). The main findings indicate significant improvements in flexibility in the lower limb of athletes in all joints investigated. We conclude that the futsal training provided improvements when compared to a previous moment without intervention, proving to be effective in the performance of athletes.
