Quantitative study of the number of students of the city of Barueri sports training center on futsal modality in the period 2008-2011
Abstract
Futsal is a sport fairly widespread and practiced both in Brazil and worldwide. Many researchers cite in their work that there is a growing on sport, regarding the number of players. In view of this, the aim of this work was to verify the validity of this hypothesis, using the data of the nucleus of sports training of city of Barueri, Brazil. Information was collected from the document called "mapão" with regard to the number of students enrolled in the years 2008 to 2011, in that modality. Through data analysis, it was found that the number of students registered has been decreasing each year, during the period studied. Still, the nucleuses attend 1.3 % of the general population of the city and 7.4 % of the population of children and adolescents in the age group of 05-14 years. After the analysis, it was concluded that in the case of regulated schools of sports, futsal practicing is not growing, based on data obtained for the city of Barueri.
