Advantage of playing at home: an analysis of the 2021 brazilian men's and women's football championships
Abstract
This study aimed to compare the home advantage of the 2021 Brazilian Men's and Women's Football Championship teams. 380 matches of the Brazilian Men's Football Championship of Serie A in 2021 and 120 of the Brazilian Women's Football Championship were analyzed. of Serie A1, in the same year. Data were collected through document analysis on the official website of the Brazilian Football Confederation. It was observed, when comparing the advantage of playing among the first eight teams of each competition, among the four relegated and among all teams, no differences were observed. It is concluded that there were no differences in the performance of the male and female teams that participated in the Brazilian Serie A Football Championships in 2021.
