Relationship between biological and motor variables in children and adolescents playing futsal
Abstract
Introduction: understanding the relationship between biological and motor variables in young futsal practitioners contributes to discussing strategies to improve the modality's physical, technical, and tactical performance. Objectives: to verify the relationship between biological and motor variables in children and adolescents practicing Futsal. Materials and method: it is a field, transversal, descriptive, and quantitative study of the correlational type. Forty-six male futsal practitioners participated in the research, with an average age of 11.9 ±1.4 years old. All the participants went through measures of corporal mass (CM), stature (ST), cutaneous folds tricipital and calf, flexibility (FLEX), agility (AGIL), and explosive muscular strength (EMS). After assuming the data's normality, we used Pearson's correlation test (r) to analyze the relationship between the variables, pre-establishing a statistical significance of p<0.05. Results: we noticed a moderate correlation between biological and motor variables: positive correlation between Age and EMS (r=0.56 - p<0.01) and EST and EMS (r=0.53 - p<0.01); negative correlation between EMS and %F (r=-0.36 - p<0.01), and weak negative correlation between EST and agility (r=-0.29 - p<0.05). Conclusion: it is concluded that the motor variable FME has a moderate correlation with the biological variables, Age, EST and %F and the motor variable agility has a weak correlation with the variable EST.
