Bibliometric review of articles on blind football (2009-2022)
Abstract
Football for the Blind stands out when related to Brazil. This article aims to outline an overview of the scientific production on Football for the Blind with articles indexed in different research bases, namely: Lilacs, Medline, Scielo, Portal de Periódicos da Capes; Web of Science; Scopus; Redalyc, with the following descriptors; a) “futebol de 5”; b) “futebol de cinco”; c) “futebol de cegos”; d) “futebol para deficientes visuais”; e) “5-a-side football”; f) “five-a-side football”; g) “blind football”; h) “football for the visually impaired”; i) “fútbol 5”; j) “fútbol cinco”; k) “fútbol para ciegos”; l) “fútbol para discapacitados visuales.As a result, 57 articles were found published between the years 2009 and 2022. It was possible to verify: a) the main language of publication was in English, and the largest number of publications in the year 2021; b) the main journals have in their scope approaches focusing on natural/biological sciences; c) the main subjects explored in the articles also related to discussions related to biological matrices, especially in the debates about lesions; d) the authors with the most publications form research groups at Universities in Spain and Brazil and are linked to debates on Paralympic sport. In the end, it was identified that studies in article format on Football for the Blind are expanding and need dissemination, especially with more research with approaches related to social sciences.
