Pattern of goals made and accepted by a professional futsal team in two state level competitions
Abstract
The observational methodology has been increasingly used to analyze the behavior of teams in futsal. Among some forms of analysis carried out in the modality, due to the relevance to characterize the behavior of players and teams, the capture of patterns in the achievement of goals, the main objective of the game, stands out. The objective of this work was to analyze the actions in the goals made and suffered by a professional futsal team over two state-level competitions. Through an observational methodology, the actions that preceded the goals were classified in the following categories: (a) subphases of the game in which the goals happened; (b) number of passes before completion and (c) number of players involved in the offensive plot. Original criteria were proposed to define the game's subphases. The observational method proved to be a viable alternative for this type of analysis, especially in the context of limited resources. In relation to the results obtained, the analyzed team presented a difference between the standards of goals scored by subphase of the game for each sampled competition. Several factors may be preponderant for this, which explains the need to monitor the daily life of the analyzed team. Within the global futsal scenario, the results are in line with the literature on the subject, showing that most goals occur with little exchange of passes and few athletes participating in the offensive plot.
