Evaluation of the maximum and average potential levels of the unimontes football school under-16 category
Abstract
The objective of the present work was to evaluate the levels of maximum power and average power, of the athletes of the under-16 category of the football school Unimontes, thus seeking to identify the variables, and assess how the levels are for a team that always seeks a better performance. Twenty-two athletes, aged between 14 and 16 years, from the Unimontes football school in the city of Montes Claros-MG participated in the study. To evaluate the power levels, in addition to the fatigue indices that were also verified, the RAST test was used, a field test in which the athlete executes six shots at maximum speed, over a distance of 35 meters, with 10 seconds of recovery between each shot, through this test we get all the values to evaluate and verify these levels. The main results showed us a level below the expected for the maximum and average power levels of the entire sample, with average values between the sample of 9.24 ±1.72 (w/kg) for maximum power and 7,08 ±1.05 (w/kg) for average power, more excellent results in the fatigue indices, with values of 6.94 ±2.67%. Therefore, concluding that the present sample has performance levels below the expected with respect to the maximum and average power variables, more with excellent fatigue indexes, showing us the need for a work focused on power.
